Thione
International, Inc. was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in
Atlanta, Georgia. The founders, Theodore Hersh, MD, Professor of
Medicine, Emeritus, from Emory University and his wife, Rebecca,
launched the company based on Dr. Hersh's 30 years of clinical practice
and research experience as a gastroenterologist-hepatologist with
a vast knowledge in the field of nutrition and a keen interest in
preventive medicine.
A Harvard graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Cum Laude, in
Biology, Dr. Hersh went on to attend medical school at Columbia
University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, in New York City
and had his postgraduate training in Internal medicine and Gastroenterology
at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, The Mayo Clinic in Rochester,
Minnesota and the Boston City Hospital, Harvard Division, in Boston,
Massachusetts.
For the first four years, Thione's founders focused on designing
formulations, developing applications, conducting patent and clinical
research and submitting patent applications. As a result of those
efforts, and the successful outcome of scientific research and several
clinical studies, Thione was able to begin commercializing its unique,
patented Thione Complex that is the basis for a growing family
of products.

As
an antioxidant expert, Dr. Theodore Hersh (known affectionately
as "Dr. Ted"), utilized over 30-years of medical training and
experience specializing in gastroenterology to discover the
breakthrough that formed the basis of Thione International and
the Thione Complex: A specific combination of antioxidants
present in almost every cell of the body that work synergistically
to protect against many of the world's most devastating diseases,
including cancer and heart disease. |
